Dear Clients,

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin announced on March 20, 2020, that the federal filing deadline has been extended to July 15th. Last night Governor Wolf mandated the closing of our Kennett Square office. Most of our staff have been working from home and will continue to do so. Our Greenville, DE office remains open however we are preparing for closure should that be ordered.

We will continue to utilize the online portal to exchange documents. We will also accept paper documents in our Delaware office during business hours or through the mail slot in the Kennett office. The delay in the filing deadline provides us with much-needed relief however there are still many unanswered questions.

We anticipate that all returns already filed with direct debit will be adjusted to withdrawal funds on July 15th. We will be working with our software vendor to ensure that our clients have the benefit of the delayed payment deadline.

We are currently working on the assumption that the thirty states where we file tax returns will follow the IRS lead and extend the deadlines. We will monitor this as the deadlines approach.

Refunds will continue to be issued as the returns are filed. If you anticipate a refund please respond and we will prioritize your returns.

Our team met this morning via video conference to discuss the changes. We will be returning to a regular workweek (8-5 M-F) as of 5 pm today and will not be working weekend or evening hours. We intend to continue to answer the phones, however, we may need to utilize the automated attendant from time to time. Extensions are forwarded to cell phones so our staff will be available. Please be considerate of the time you call as the forwarding cannot be turned off outside of working hours.

Thank you,

Chad Fenstermacher
